Well, jeez… this is a bit embarrassing. Basically, we opened the shop late last weekend from Thursday through till Saturday. To say the Deli Teahouse was mobbed would be a big fat lie. Family joined on the first night, but we barely shifted a glass of wine after that. If David Cameron was describing the turn out, he might call it a ‘damp squib.’
Are we disappointed? Yes. Was it our fault for not making enough of a splash about the opening hours? Yes.
So, what we’ve decided to do is come back in late January and try again. In the mean time, we’re going to extend our opening hours into the evening to catch some of you who come home on the train.
We’ll also be running with two Wine and Cheese Nights in February. We’d do it earlier but something called Christmas is taking place soon and apparently pennies are tight in January? Who knew!
